The Centre for Alternative Techology opened my eyes to the environmental problems affecting Wales. I had previously believed that the comments were offensive jokes but here I learned how to use a toilet without flushing it to save "gallons of valuable water every week." It must be a very localised problem though as I live near the sea. It was difficult to get to but definitely worth it. Here is a newsletter I picked up so I can share their good work. They also have several wind turbines but unfortunately there was no wind during my visit.
This is a photo of the information centre, where you can buy much information about the centre.
This is a photo of the theatre. Here you can sit on hay bales like chairs and be told of how you can best help the centre. I learn the hay bales are better for the world than real chairs, and when they rot they become soil for the flowers. It is all very motivating. I learnt many things I could do to make my visit useful to all rather than just look to learn myself. I got "hands on" and they even let me help with the conctrete of the next building project! I left tired but with very glad feelings. |
